graphic designer. writer. weight lifter. ice cream fanatic. pun enthusiast.
Cassy Klisch is a graphic designer and aspiring author from southeast Pennsylvania. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2014 with a BFA in Communication Design and is currently working in the marketing department of a wonderful company.
Cassy has enjoyed writing since before she can remember, but she discovered it as a true passion when she was fourteen and started the first draft of her very first novel. She is also an avid weight lifter and former personal trainer, and it's at the gym she often comes up with solutions to her biggest creative woes.
Several of Cassy's other passions include ice cream, french fries, pizza, breakfast food, food, double stuffed Oreos, extra toasty Cheez Its, and everything Disney. Her favorite books are Caraval by Stephanie Garber, The Wicked Deep by Shea Earnshaw and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. She's convinced there will never be another television show that will change her life the way LOST did, and though she loves all types of music (aside from country) her favorites range from epic covers to 80s hits to heavy rock a la Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin.
Cassy is also a serious hypochondriac and a victim of trypophobia—the fear of organic clusters of hole-like shapes. She dreams of owning a kitty and two doggies, is very easily entertained, is a long-time lover of puns—the cornier the better—and loves going the extra mile to put a smile on someone's face.
After scrapping my first-ever completed manuscript that took me six years to write, I started a new project—the right way—in April 2017, completed the first draft five months later, and began submitting the final draft in September 2018.
THE SECRETS OF RAYNE is a young adult urban fantasy that follows the story of seventeen-year-old Rayne Robbins.
Most seventeen-year-olds would kill to see secrets with a simple look into a person's eyes, but after suffering seven years as the FBI's most valuable weapon, Rayne Robbins would kill not to. Since she was ten years old, she's been locked away in a government facility to help incarcerate the country's most notorious criminals. Though its sturdy walls are for her protection, she knows what she really is—a prisoner. Still, when the extremist group, CORA, kidnaps Rayne and exposes her to a world where everyone somehow knows her name, she wants nothing more than to return to the safety of those walls. Until she meets three friends with extraordinary abilities. Abilities like hers.
When Sam and his friends save her from CORA, Rayne trusts his peculiar-colored eyes the moment she sees the truth within them. She agrees to help the three put an end to CORA's deadly attacks on the country, but while fighting to avoid both the extremists and the FBI, Rayne realizes she'll never be able to stop running as long as she's chained to what she can do.
When Rayne discovers Sam is the key to destroying her ability, she begins to keep a secret of her own—she'll do anything for her freedom, even if it means choosing between helping CORA destroy the country or killing the boy she's fallen for.
